Don't Worry About Us

It took 12 days, but we got working heat back. 3 more days, we got running water back. For those of you not keeping track of our woes, our furnace broke. It took the P.O.S. warranty company and their P.O.S contractors 12 days to fix the problem. During that time we mooched off of friends (shout out to hosts: Manzagols, Whitworths, and Hessler/Dials) and lived in their houses. After the house warmed up, we attempted to turn on the water. A pipe had burst by the main water valve, so we immediately had to turn it back off. The next day, a plumber came out to fix the pipe (no thanks to the warranty company, they don't cover anything). He fixed the pipe, but then more problems became known as water made their way through the house.

1. Dishwasher water connection broken
2. Refrigerator water connection broken
3. Leak developed under kitchen sink
4. Cold water to upstairs no longer working, large amounts of sediment was coming from pipes and was clogging toilet and shower flow.

So one by one the problems were fixed over the next day and a half. The galvanized pipes causing the last problem were replaced with copper pipes. My house is warm and water is now plentiful. So, next time anyone comes to visit me, bring quarters because we have converted the toilet to a pay toilet to pay for our huge plumber bill.
