Baby Formula

My title doesn't refer to the milk mix - it's about the recipe for quieting a crying baby. I was told before I babysat a 1year old yesterday that there was a formula. Crying = hungry, tired, needed held, diaper change or needed toy. Unfortunately, I found the formula didn't work for me. I babysat between 4pm and 11pm and the baby cried 50% of the time. Despite my rotating through the possibilities and holding the baby until my arm became sore (it still hurts today), the baby insisted on crying.
